Wir erleben keine normale technologische Entwicklung mehr. Wir erleben eine Machtverschiebung. Leise, aber tiefgreifend. Weg von Politik und Institutionen – hin zu jenen, die die Innovation kontrollieren. Diese neue Elite formuliert ihr Programm selten offen. Doch ihre Logik ist unmissverständlich. Denker und Unternehmer wie Peter Thiel bringen sie auf den Punkt: Die Welt wird durch Innovation getrieben. Wer die Innovation beherrscht, beherrscht die Zukunft. Und wer die Zukunft beherrscht, kann sich die Langsamkeit demokratischer Prozesse nicht leisten. Das ist keine Randmeinung mehr. Es ist dabei, zur neuen Orthodoxie zu werden. Denn die Fakten scheinen ihnen recht zu geben. Wir befinden uns in einer exponentiell verlaufenden technologischen Revolution. Künstliche Intelligenz, Biotechnologie, digitale Plattformen – sie verändern Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft schneller, als politische Systeme reagieren können. Die Innovation ist nicht mehr linear. Sie ist explosiv. Und in dieser Dynamik wirkt Demokratie plötzlich schwerfällig. Zu viele Stimmen. Zu viele Einwände. Zu viel Zeitverlust. Hier beginnt die eigentliche Verschiebung. Demokratie wird nicht mehr als Voraussetzung von Fortschritt gesehen, sondern als Hindernis. Vielfalt nicht als Stärke, sondern als Reibung. Konsens nicht als Legitimation, sondern als Verzögerung. Das ist der Moment, in dem aus technologischer Dynamik eine Ideologie wird.

But the world they helped create is now changing at unprecedented speed.

Entire professions are being transformed within a decade. The half-life of knowledge is shrinking dramatically. Skills once considered permanent now require constant renewal.

The assumption that individuals can study intensively for a few years in early adulthood and rely on that knowledge for a lifetime no longer holds.
